What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Transportation Specialist position at Mid-America Overseas, Inc.?
Duties and responsibilities:
- Quote and coordinate international air and ocean shipments on a door to door basis
- Daily maintenance and tracking and tracing of international shipments
- Communicate daily with clients, truckers, warehouses, airlines, steamship lines and other forwarders
- Prepare and submit air / ocean quotations to clients and agents on a daily basis
- Maintain/Update Client information and SOP’s
- Punctual daily follow up of all inquiries from customers, agents and MAO offices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
Position duties and responsibilities:
- Provide excellent Customer Service to ensure customer issues are resolved.
- Prepare and submit quotations to clients on a daily basis.
- Coordinate Air and Sea Freight Forwarding of international shipments from Door to Door.
- Professional Communication with truckers, warehouses, airlines, steamship lines, and other forwarders on a daily basis.
- Maintain/Update Client information; change in contact, special instructions, and any other specific requirements.
- Punctual follow up to all inquiries, including RFI's, RFQ's and all other customer, agent and MAO partner office inquiries
- Daily interactions and reporting to local management.
Minimum experience
- 2 years with international freight forwarder or customs house broker
- Working knowledge FCL, LCL and Consolidations for Import transportation and break-bulk air freight
