We are currently seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to contribute to maintaining a clean, professional, and safe working environment. In this multi-faceted role, you will perform routine and non-routine work as directed, always adhering to company policy, procedures, and values.
Job Purpose: The Forklift Operator ensures the efficient and safe gathering, staging, and loading of products according to sales orders, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role requires timely order fulfillment, accurate inventory rotation, and proactive communication regarding any discrepancies to the Shipping Manager/Assistant Manager. The Forklift Operator operates with significant autonomy and must adhere to company policies, procedures, and values.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment.
- Report to assigned work areas punctually.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts.
- Accurately gather, stage, and load products based on provided Sales Orders.
- Verify order completeness and ensure loading onto the correct truck.
- Receive various incoming items (e.g., canned feed, bags, cardboard).
- Adhere to the Shipping Department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Report any out-of-stock or delayed items to the Shipping Manager/Assistant Manager.
- Ensure proper product rotation within warehouses.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with adaptability to change.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Working Conditions: This role requires a self-directed individual with a strong understanding of company policy. Team members must comply with all safety regulations in all work environments, including the plant. The plant environment may involve exposure to noise, heat, moving mechanical parts, dust, high noise levels, and varying internal and external temperatures.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift up to 60 pounds.
- Occasionally bend, twist, and turn while lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Walk up to two or more miles daily.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 0 to over 100°F.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
