The Position
The Quality Compliance Coordinator –Organ is responsible for processing, obtaining, auditing and maintaining donor information to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards. This includes data abstraction/review, submission and validation of clinical data from the donor record as required by United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and CMS. This position is also responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of policies regarding organ procurement and as a liaison, work closely with various departments in the Organ Work System.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze, review, audit and process donor information and case follow up to ensure accurate completion of donor charts, including import charts, to meet regulatory requirements and maintain organizational compliance
- Obtain follow-up donor and recipient information, final donor testing results and reports
- Perform a quality audit of organ donor charts
- Ensure final closure of the donor chart and completion of case disposition in True North
- Relay appropriate post case information to the transplant centers and OPO’s involved
- Ensure Deceased Donor Reports (DDR) are submitted accurately and timely in DonorNet
- Ensure UNOS reports and required data submissions are submitted within the UNOS designated timeframes
- Critically analyzes medical records and identifies communicable diseases, infections and cancers that require follow up and reporting
- Gathers, prepares, and distributes clinical data to improve partner satisfaction and assist in process improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- 3 years of work experience in a health science environment or OPO experience preferred
- Proficiency with medical/transplant terminology required
- Knowledge of regulatory/accreditation requirements for CMS and UNOS or willingness to learn
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
