The MACU Experience
During their time at MACU, our interns will significantly understand what it means to be a Credit Union. They will become familiar with our departments and how each of them contributes to our success in serving as our members' trusted financial home. Through this internship, you will experience daily life in a financial institution and leave with a comprehensive and true understanding of the banking industry.
Who Should Apply
MACU seeks motivated and talented individuals to join our summer internship program. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals in various departments, gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing essential skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Spend time in each of our departments/branches to learn about their functions within the Credit Union.
- Collaborate with different departments to help complete their daily tasks.
- Accompany our marketing team to educational events in the community.
- Fill in on the Teller Lines or in ITMs as needed.
Member Relations
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills while interacting with members and all co-workers to exhibit a commitment to providing above and beyond customer service
- Possess good verbal and nonverbal communication skills while assisting members
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while handling complex transactions
- Focus on maintaining and improving the relationship between the credit union and our members by meeting their needs and prioritizing them
- Maintain a positive, engaging attitude with the members during your interactions
Operations and Responsibilities:
- Follow all policies and procedures the credit union sets when assisting members
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency
- Learn cash and check handling procedures and gain knowledge of documentation concerning account ownership and business accounts for our members
- Interns will be exposed to a range of departments, including Operations, Direct Loans, Special Accounts

What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Available to work full-time during the summer
