Description :
The Entry-Level Tower Tech will perform physical labor tasks at any construction site; assist with installation and maintenance of coax and antenna; and complete other tasks on job sites as directed. An Entry-Level Tower Tech will complete safety orientation but has not yet completed fall protection certification training. An Entry-Level Tower Tech will remain in a trainee status performing only ground / non-climbing duties until completing authorized climber training and being deemed ready to work at heights by an authorized authority.
Position responsibilities (Essential Functions) :
Under supervision follows instruction and direction from lead / supervisor the first time without needing consistent follow-up
Assists team in performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of coax and antenna, and grounding and erection of towers
Aptitude to learn ground-hand work and is a productive member of the crew
Can utilize basic hand tools
Completes work in a timely and efficient manner according to safety procedures
Maintains a clean job site : pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
Must be physically capable of climbing once trained in fall protection regulations and use of personal protection equipment
Proficient or able to become proficient in ground, civil, maintenance, or other technical functions on the jobsite; able to work on equipment being used to support tower construction or maintenance operations
Requirements :
Essential skills and experience :
High school diploma or equivalent
Maintain high job standards and detail orientation in a fast-paced environment
Must be a self-starter with ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as in a team
Knowledge of construction terminology and basic hand tools
Honesty, integrity, loyalty, and the ability and willingness to make the company’s best interests the number one priority
High attention to detail
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and verbal instructions
Ability to report to jobsite on time according to schedule

Valued but not required skills and experience :
Experience at heights of 100 feet or more in any type of workplace environment

Work environment : May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites as well as wet and / or humid conditions, construction debris, dust, construction material fumes and odors, moving mechanical parts, high and underground precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, all weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat, and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration; must work outside in varying weather / driving conditions combined with regular work time indoors.
