Purpose:
- The Business Development Manager will originate and develop projects throughout the United States. Areas of focus will primarily be on prefabrication of vessels, structural steel, fabricated weldments, and mechanical elements. The Business Development Manager will be a strategic relationship builder with both internal/external project stakeholders demonstrating personal integrity with a win/win mindset. The Business Development Manager will leverage their industry experience, knowledge, and external relationships to manage multiple customers and projects. Responsibilities include customer relationship management, market-specific strategy and analysis, direct marketing, business development campaign and execution, and assist in proposal development and management.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain customer relationships and retention plans.
- Proactively communicate with customers to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Participate in industry related functions to market the company’s capabilities and capacity.
- Directly originate project sales including responding to RFP’s, executing business development campaigns in targeted market segments, implementing contact plans with customers, developing, and drafting project proposals, interfacing with multiple stakeholders to analyze available data.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of, and become expert in, target regions and markets, including understanding regulatory incentives, and co-development opportunities.
- Identify and implement marketing initiatives for prefab markets, including developing marketing materials, presenting to industry, while identifying competitive differentiators.
- Track, update, coordinate, and originate opportunities directly and with team. Collaborate with other company team members to provide a unified customer approach.
- Other duties will be assigned as needed by company management.

Education:
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university with a concentration in engineering, business, marketing, communications, or a related field of study is preferred.
- Candidates with demonstrated business development experience will be considered in lieu of educational preference.
Experience:
- 5 years of business development / sales experience in the mechanical construction / prefabrication industry is required.
- Proven track record of effective communications with project stakeholders, including customers, vendors, community partners, and E.P.C. prime contractors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
- Ability to walk, step, climb, and otherwise move from one location on the job site to another.
- Ability to visually see worksite environment and observe equipment operations (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to complete repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
- Ability to climb vertical ladders. Working at elevated heights
- Ability to lift to and include fifty (50) lb. objects as required.
- Ability to carry up to and including fifty (50) lb. objects as required.
- Ability to adapt to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to the elements.
- Ability to work outdoors in all-weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Time will be split between a telecommuting environment, office and traveling to locations meeting with customers and other internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency with multiple software tools including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe. Experience with CAD and understanding drawings is a plus.
Travel:
- Travel required on an is needed basis.
