Position Overview:
The VDC Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within mechanical construction projects. This role will focus on improving project planning, coordination, and execution through digital tools, ensuring seamless collaboration between all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead VDC/BIM Processes: Develop and manage VDC and BIM standards, ensuring best practices are followed across all projects.
- Project Planning & Coordination: Utilize digital models to assist in project planning, from preconstruction to field installation.
- Model Management: Create, maintain, and update 3D models to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conflict Detection & Resolution: Identify and mitigate potential clashes between mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems using VDC tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD Recap, , and MSuite.
- Communication & Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for VDC/BIM-related issues, ensuring clear communication between project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation: Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Change Management: Manage design and model updates, ensuring all changes are accurately incorporated into project workflows.
- Schedule & Budget Tracking: Monitor and report on schedule and budget impacts, working closely with operations teams.
- Client Relationship Management: Engage with clients, present project progress, and lead coordination meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in VDC/BIM management within mechanical construction.
- Proficiency in BIM software with high proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD Recap, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical systems, fabrication, and installation processes.
- Experience in clash detection, coordination, and resolution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
