Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for an Acupuncturist to join our Northern Virginia Pain Management and Anesthesia Services department. This position is a part-time, 12 hours a week , opportunity based out of our Falls Church Medical Center in Falls Church, Virginia . We offer flexible scheduling options, allowing you to choose the days and shifts that work best for you. The anticipated start date for this position is September 2025. This position is benefits ineligible.

Reporting to a Pain Management-Anesthesia Services Service Chief, the Acupuncturist will provide care to Kaiser Permanente (KP) patients by utilizing acupuncture to stimulate certain points on or near the surface of the body by the insertion of needles to prevent or modify the perception of pain or to normalize physiological functions. You will perform or prescribe the use of oriental massage, acupressure, breathing techniques, exercise or nutrition, including the incorporation of drugless substances and herbs as dietary supplements to promote health.
You can expect to :
- Administer medically necessary acupuncture, consultations, assessments, and treatments as requested by family physicians and specialists
- Provide accurate diagnoses supported by medical findings derived from standardized examinations and techniques widely accepted in the medical community
- Provide high quality care to KP patients utilizing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western diagnostic techniques, ensuring comprehensive, accurate, uniform, and reproducible examinations to cure or relieve the medical condition causing the patient's complaint
- Evaluate whether anatomical loss, functional impairment, and physical complaints are work-related
- Write detailed comprehensive medical reports describing the degree of injury consistent with Workers Compensation terminology and requirements
What is required :
Minimum of 30 hours of clinical sciences such as internal medicine, pharmacology, neurology, surgery and clinical medicine including dentistry, nursing, chiropractic and homeopathy, western pharmacology and BLS
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $33.92 to $42.40 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors.
