Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Graduate-Level Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) Summer Intern to join our Strategy and Communications department. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. This internship position requires the intern to be onsite every Tuesday at our Capitol Hill regional office. Please note, this position is ineligible for benefits. Reporting to a Director of Strategy Implementation , the Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Summer Intern will collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Implementation to assist in the planning and coordination of key EID events, programs, and communications. You will have the chance to gain experience across consulting, analytics, project management, strategy, communications, and executive leadership. This internship is designed for graduate students interested in healthcare systems, consulting, project management, and strategic planning, offering you the opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives that drive equity, inclusion, and diversity in healthcare.
You can expect to :
- Plan, coordinate, and support key EID events, including the Speak My Culture Continuing Medical Education (CME) event, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, and other recognition days, while assisting with the EID Ambassadors program and related initiatives.
- Develop and distribute EID communications, maintain the EID SharePoint site, and create monthly event calendars. Write a monthly article on EID topics for the MAPMG newsletter and track deliverables from team meetings.
- Assist in the implementation of the wound care education program and contribute to planning meetings for new service lines, such as the Center for Healthy Weight and Lifestyle Medicine and geriatric services.
- Collaborate with internal teams and departments to address ad hoc needs, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Support data collection and reporting efforts for EID initiatives, including gathering feedback from event participants, measuring program success, and assisting in the development and implementation of DEI strategies.
- Provide administrative support for EID projects, including organizing files, managing schedules, and coordinating logistics for meetings and events.
What is required :
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
