The Inside Commercial Sales Associate is responsible for answering phone calls, customer service, calling customers to check needs, and data entry. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Incoming Calls
- Quote customers within and without assigned base
- Enter sales orders
- Create purchase orders for vendors
- Place orders with vendors
- Provide product data/specs for customers
- Inside sales support for outside sales team
- Pro- active calls to account base to spur sales
- Follow up on existing quotes, sample requests
- Arrange freight for direct trucks
- Maintain current customer relationship by calling to see how we can service
- Pursue new customers
- Product Specialist
- Provide management assistance
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven work experience as an administrative assistant, clerical role, or sales support
- Good understanding of customer service
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Detail orientated
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and scanners
- Ability to pick up new software quickly
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Team player
- Willingness to take on projects or tasks not normal for the position
- Roofing supply product knowledge is preferred
