What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Mid City Foundry?
Summary: Under the supervision of the Plant Metallurgist/Quality Engineer, the Quality Technician is responsible for performing periodic, documented examination and verification of activities, records and processes of the quality system to determine the effectiveness and dependability of them.
Education and/or Work Experience Needed: Some college preferred. 2 years in a manufacturing environment, foundry preferred. Inspection and Audit experience a plus.
Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
· Requires superior interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with client, public, employees, staff, management etc.
· Must possess superior organizational skills and be able to prioritize and work simultaneously on several projects.
· Knowledge of procedure auditing a plus.
· Ability to operate within a team atmosphere.
· Knowledge of inspection techniques a plus.
· Skill in interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, policy statements, and other guideline materials.

· Conduct audits of quality procedures, flowcharts and work instructions to ensure compliance.
· Conduct audits of part number specific process sheets and work instructions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Perform dock audits.
· Perform casting inspection as required by customer.
· Report findings to Plant Metallurgist/Quality Engineer.
