Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or courier vehicle to deliver packages and goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring all items are secured properly during transit.
- Follow established delivery routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered during deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with clients during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies in shipments.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and warehouse operations is beneficial.
- Experience with route driving and navigating local roads is an advantage.
- Ability to handle moving and loading/unloading tasks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential for this role.
