Overview
At Mid-Columbia Bus Company our mechanics are the glue that holds our operation together. We rely on our mechanics to maintain the mechanical condition of school buses and support vehicles using effective preventive maintenance procedures, diagnosis, and repairs. We are looking for a mechanic with the drive and dedication to succeed in their role!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough PMs in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform fast, effective diagnosis and repair of vehicle component failures.
- Perform repairs to engines, transmissions, drivelines, and differentials.
- Possess knowledge of and performs repairs to engine accessory components.
- Possess a complete knowledge and proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding of steering, suspension, air and hydraulic brake systems, engine tune-ups, axle, and electrical systems.
- Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and is a self-starter.
- Possess the ability to instruct maintenance lot personnel in minor maintenance procedures and assists them in completing repair assignments.
- Completes all paperwork in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as directed.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience as a bus mechanic or the equivalent in a related maintenance field or formal technical training facility.
- Be well organized
- Able to multitask
- Work well under pressure and with others
- Proficiency in vehicle maintenance and diesel engine repair techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience as a mechanic or service technician.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Must own your own tools.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- CDL license or the ability to obtain one. (Paid training available to obtain CDL)
- ODE Certification
- State school bus driving certificate, or the ability to obtain one (if applicable).
- Meet Federal requirements, re. PM Inspection/Brakes competencies
- Hand and power tools necessary for performing normal maintenance procedures.

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
