We are seeking a Switchboard Representative to join our Patient Visitor Services department. This position is Part Time, scheduled 8 hours per week and is eligible for a 13% pay differential in addition to the base salary in lieu of benefits.

Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director of Patient and Visitor Services, the role of the Representative is responsible for operating the multi-line telephone communication center between the public and patients, physicians and personnel.
Qualifications
Education :
High school education or equivalent
Licensure / Certification :
N / A
Experience :
- Six to twelve months minimum required in a healthcare setting or an equivalent position
- One year customer service experience preferred
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities :
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally, via phone, and in written form.
- Communication should be clear, concise and accurate, using appropriate tone and volume.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills which promotes cooperation and teamwork.
- Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize / prioritize related job tasks.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
- Must be detail oriented, organized and able to work independently to coordinate demands.
- Keyboarding of 40 wpm and fluent in navigating software programs.
- Experience with Epic EHR preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, stressful, potentially hazardous environment, and take appropriate action.
- Operation and clear communication using the Shortel Telephone System and all other communication systems. Triaging emergency calls and routing them to appropriate personnel, transferring calls to staff or patients.
