THE POSITION…
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, ensure accurate records, proper packaging, and timely delivery for the best customers from all over the world – from general, business and commercial aviation. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be reliable, physically capable and comfortable working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be an important part of the process that keeps our customers flying!
THIS POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU IF…
- You have a high school diploma or GED.
- You have a minimum 1 year of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment.
- You have strong basic math and computation skills.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office.
- You have strong attention to detail.
- You are organized, focused and results oriented.
- You are a problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
- You have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
WE WOULD REALLY LIKE IT IF… (but it’s not a deal breaker)…
- You have familiarity with shipping software or tools
THE PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT REQUIRES…
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift regularly and for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely
- Ability to handle exposure to varying temperatures or conditions (e.g. warehouse, loading docks)
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT…
- Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by examining contents and comparing with records, such as packing sheets, invoices, correspondence or orders
- Alert manager or vendors of discrepancies and work to resolve issues
- Create shipping paperwork and labels from the shipping computer, compare to work order tracker
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes
- Ensure incoming deliveries are routed to the appropriate location
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies
- Comply with all hazardous material shipping regulations
