What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Aide position at Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency?
The Site Aide provides transportation assistance for children and adults, serves as a bus monitor, provides classroom coverage to maintain appropriate staff to child ratio, and may assist with food service.
SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE JOB:
1. Safely operate a school bus over a specified route to local destinations according to a time schedule.
2. Provide daily checks of vehicles as required.
3. Plan and schedule routine bus maintenance and cleaning as required.
4. Request and schedule bus repairs according to guidelines.
5. Maintain all required records.
6. Provide transportation services to field trips, health appointments, scheduled therapy, etc. as requested.
7. Teach children and adults transportation safety precautions and procedures.
8. Assists parents and community participants in volunteer assignments as required.
9. Assist with service and monitoring of meals in the classroom.
10. Eat meals with children as requested.
11. Assist in classroom activities as assigned by teacher.
12. Assist in cleaning duties of classroom and center.
13. Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks.
14. Assist with parent meetings and trainings as requested.
15. Recruit children for the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs.
16. Attend and participate in meetings, work groups, team meetings, committees, workshops, individual training and training conferences as assigned, which may include local, state, regional and national groups. This includes attending pre-service and in-service training.
17. Work to obtain volunteer and in-kind contributions for the Agency. Submit necessary documents to Finance Department.
18. Comply with Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency Policies and Procedures, all Head Start Performance Standards, and Mid-Cumberland Head Start Operations Manual, and other applicable Early Childhood Standards such as DHS Licensing Standards, CACFP, TN Department of Health, and NAEYC Accreditation
19. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; current CDL license minimum of a Class C with a PS endorsement preferred.
Experience: Previous work transporting young children is preferred.
Other: Drivers license required.
This is a 12-month position.
