Manager, Development and Community Engagement
Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center, a non-profit mental health agency is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Manager of Development and Community Engagement. Reporting to the Senior Officer of Business Development and Community Partnerships, this full-time role is essential in securing funding through grants, private philanthropy, and fundraising events while also strengthening partnerships with local institutions such as school districts, government agencies, and community organizations. Additionally, the role will support the development of innovative programs that address unmet community needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on our organization and the children and families we serve. The position requires an on-site presence in Norwalk at least three days per week, with additional availability as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and pursue new and existing grant opportunities.
- Write compelling grant proposals and funding presentations.
- Establish and maintain high-value partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders.
- Represent Mid-Fairfield at grant funder meetings and key stakeholder events.
- Lead and implement a private donor engagement strategy.
- Plan and execute fundraising initiatives and partnership-driven events (e.g., 5K runs, community campaigns).
- Support the development and expansion of new programs to address community needs.
- Track and manage program data and reporting requirements for grants and funding sources.
- Identify, evaluate, and cultivate new referral sources within the service area.
- Effectively communicate Mid-Fairfield’s mission, impact, and services to stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at marketing and networking events to enhance visibility and foster new relationships.
- Proactively engage and solicit major donors to support our mission.
- Perform other related duties as needed to advance the organization’s goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of development experience.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, or similar caliber of fundraising data management software is an asset.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office, GSuite, and similar office systems is required.
- Strong communication skills including public presentation and speaking experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of proficiency while working quickly.
- Ability to communicate in written and verbal Spanish is highly desired but not required.
- High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.
Salary : $70 - $85
