What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eye Care Professional position at Mid Florida Eye Center?
We are a multi-specialty eye care practice seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician II to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician and will have achieved their Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification. They will be responsible for performing all duties and functions of an Ophthalmic Technician I, as well as supporting training efforts of other clinical staff as needed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. They will also have proficiency in medical and ophthalmic terminology, and basic computer literacy.
Responsibilities:
- Document patient information accurately and in accordance with compliance guidelines
- Perform pre-exam testing to include visual acuity assessment, pinhole and glare testing, confrontational visual field testing, and assess extra ocular muscles, pupillary evaluation, tonometry, and pupillary dilation
- Support training efforts of other clinical staff as needed
