Job Summary
Oversee the supervisory staff and program in a camp setting. Camp is from June 30th-August 22nd. This is a seasonal position with full time hours while camp is in session and some pre-season hours as scheduled by the director.
Essential Functions:
- Model and promote the organization’s mission, values and guiding principles through positive attitude, appropriate appearance, words, and actions, as well as in compliance with organization’s policies and procedures.
- Engage in opportunities to positively interact with members leading to a positive member experience.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, supervision, discipline and termination of staff.
- Lead and/or attend all staff meetings and orientations held before and during camp season.
- Provide effective management and motivation to program and camp staff.
- Oversee an area of camp and serve as the direct supervisor to the staff assigned in those areas.
- Supervise all staff assigned to your area communicating on a daily basis, conducting evaluations and write ups as needed.
- Communicate with parents as needed when issues arise that require further assistance beyond the staff member assigned.
- Help ensure that staff are maintaining a safe, healthy, age-appropriate and orderly environment; focusing on the individual needs of each participant, as well as the needs of the group.
- Model appropriate language and behavior.
- Keep the camp director informed of any issues that occur during the program.
- May be assigned to other tasks and duties as directed by the camp director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities. This position oversees all group leaders, division leaders, and/or specialist and supervisor in your assigned area and throughout camp.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time seasonal position. Days and hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm with some late-nights based on placement.
Salary Range: $8,000-$10,000
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or at least three years’ experience working with children. Camp administrative experience a plus.
