We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Loan Officer to join our lending team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending approval of commercial loans. As a key player in our organization, you will work closely with members to understand their financial needs and provide tailored loan solutions that support their business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze commercial loan applications and financial information to determine the creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with members, providing exceptional customer service and financial advice.
- Assess the potential risks of loan requests and make informed recommendations for approval or denial.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the loan process.
- Prepare and present detailed credit memos and reports for review by senior management and credit committees.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring timely repayments and identifying any signs of potential default.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and legal, to facilitate smooth loan processing and closing.
- Stay updated with the latest market trends, economic conditions, and industry standards to provide informed insights to credit union members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lending or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of loan structuring, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in financial software and loan processing systems.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with FINPACK software a plus!
