Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and community members Competency in oral and written communications Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check Responsibilities : Performs casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social, or emotional maladjustments related to their educational and social progress. Coordinates or serves as a member of diagnostic teams and educational planning and placement committees and provides biological, psychological, and sociological assessment information related to the planning for students with identified concerns. Collaboration with counseling department colleagues, regarding grade level programming and planning Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of student behavior. Performs casework service with parents as an integral part of helping students by increasing their understanding of how to constructively participate in resolving a student problem(s), and with sharing of own knowledge of appropriate available resources. Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful background information related to the student. Assists students with their adjustment to school. Performs other duties as assigned by his / her supervisor. Provide individual or small group counseling sessions for At-Risk identified youth as needed Provide key positive behavioral instruction in classrooms to support building-wide PBIS processes.
