- Previous work experience with at-risk school aged children.
- Ability to work with at-risk students and their families.
- Knowledge of community and county agencies and services available to individuals and families.
- Experience as a child counselor, psychologist, behavioral specialist preferred.
- Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
- Ability to work with school and county agency professionals.
- Ability to facilitate meetings with parents, students, teachers, counselors,and agency professionals.
- Ability to assist students and parents in the pursuit of success.
- Be open to continuous change.
- Knowledge of school policy and procedures governing academics, attendance, and behavior.
- Ability to facilitate student group sessions.
- Be an excellent communicator with students, parents and staff.
- Establish and facilitate team meetings for at-risk students as necessary.
- Monitor progress of Success Program Students and meet with students on a weekly basis or as needed.
- Communicate Success Program Student progress to the home and appropriate school personnel via letters, email and telephone calls.
- Use data tracking system to monitor behavior and attendance each week.
- Make home visits if necessary.
- Assist families with agency involvement as necessary.
- Oversee student lunch periods & supervise lunch.
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
