Fundraising Activities

Responsibilities include facilitating comprehensive fundraising activities, day-to-day operations, volunteer management and training, and ongoing and special development initiatives.
Fundraising Activities
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership for all fundraising efforts including annual, major, planned, and capital campaigns as well as special events designed to secure donations, expand community support and build funding for the College.
- Develops and enhances strategic partnerships and relationships between the College and outside organizations, which result in funding for activities, projects, or endowments.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify funding needs and then develop plans to meet those needs.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual, foundation, and corporate donors.
- Actively pursue new donors and fundraising opportunities through relationship building and friend raising activities.
- Plan, support, and coordinate special events and other donor events.
- Direct the recruitment, orientation, and development of Foundation board members.
- Implement a comprehensive development plan to reach Foundation goals. Track and report progress on all fundraising goals and objectives.
- Assist with the development of grant proposals to provide funding to programs from external governmental and private foundations.
- Manage donor and recipient relations and coordinate donor gifts to ensure that donor intent is fulfilled and the donation is tracked properly.
- Ensure proper appreciation for each donor is demonstrated.
- Work with the Financial Aid Office to monitor scholarship funds. Work with donors to design, write, and implement new scholarships.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely donor files and databases.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to foundation activities and fundraising, ensuring compliance and proper reporting.
- Report on foundation activities to the College and Foundation boards.
- Participate in community events or with community groups that have relevance to the Foundation's mission and with college advancement.
- Maintain an aggressive outreach program with business and industry, chambers of commerce, governmental agencies, and local school districts.
- Develop and prepare presentations for individuals, organizations, corporations, foundations, and government agencies in order to introduce those audiences to the College.
- Serve as a representative of Mid at all appropriate public functions - day, evening, and weekend.
- Develop and monitor the operational budget and provide leadership for the management of funds.
- Design, implement and manage the necessary systems, controls, policies, and procedures to assure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Foundation office.
- Provide executive oversight for the functional areas of the Foundation.
- Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in every activity and regarding all professional and personal relations, building trust and confidence in the College and Foundation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
