What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Mid Michigan Health?
Under the direct supervision of a provider, the medical assistant will be responsible for patient assessment and care, maintaining appropriate documentation. They must have basic knowledge of specialty and/or primary care and be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. The position coordinates care to ensure high-quality, compassionate patient care is provided, maintaining and overseeing patients at office locations and serving as a liaison with other organizations and departments. This role may involve ordering medical, pharmacy supplies, and office supplies to manage patient care. They are expected to comply with all policies/procedures of MyMichigan Health and follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, Clinical laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, and relevant regulatory agencies. Additionally, they will coordinate with and train new employees, students, and float staff as required.
