What You Do

As an Assistant Program Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of services in their designated department and for supporting persons receiving services. This position may provide support to one of or both Employment services and our Community Connections program. Functions include, but not limited to:

  • Provide case management supports to assigned participants including scheduling, authorization management, and assistance with communication, advocacy, and empowerment
  • Serve as liaison between participants, MMI, their guardian (if applicable), and other team members
  • Serve as MMI representative for the Person Centered Planning process including participation and advocacy during Person Centered Planning meetings and ensuring the resulting plan is in conformance with agency expectations, monitoring implementation, and training staff on the plan and conducting an ongoing assessment of progress
  • Ensure implementation of meaningful community-based activities and monitor services, including those outside of regular business hours
  • Serve as the services coordinator and/or job coach for participants

This position does require the ability to lift 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently.

The Assistant Program Manager will work mainly in the Montcalm area, but may work in multiple counties within the MMI service area. Significant local travel is required with some travel to other counties including our main Office in Isabella county.

You also will be eligible for benefits after an introductory period. Health, vision, and dental insurance is available with three health insurance options currently available. We offer 12 paid holidays including the week between Christmas and New Year. We also provide PTO (paid time off) up to 3 weeks a year based on your hours worked. If you prefer, you can also cash out your PTO quarterly to help with special occasions you may need some extra cash for. We also offer 401k and tuition reimbursement after one year of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or human services related field or possession of NADSP’s DSP III credential
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact positively with the business community, management, staff, persons served, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Computer literate
  • Must possess a safe driving record, valid driver's license, minimum insurance coverages as defined by MMI, and have reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Training relevant to rehabilitation, i.e. Confrontation Avoidance Techniques, First Aid, CPR, American Sign Language
  • Experience in business or program management, customer service, sales, or human services
  • Knowledge of CARF standards, CMH guidelines, Recipient Rights, and/or ADA
  • Experience in skill building training, employment services, or special education
  • Work or volunteer experience within a rehabilitation program
  • Familiarity with local community, and the knowledge of accessibility needs and barriers within the community
