What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Staff position at Mid Minnesota Entertainment?
The Dead End Hayride & The Great Pumpkin Trail is seeking to hire motivated Security Staff members to join our team. The Dead End Hayride is committed to providing a safe, fun and entertaining Haunted Attraction for our employees and attendees. We take security and safety as a top priority for all patrons and employees
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Security or military experience (highly preferred)
- 3 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
- Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms.
- Experience recognizing valid ID’s.
- Experience in a live event environment is a plus.
- Working environment is fast-paced, often loud and can be stressful.
- Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and be a team player.
Duties include any and all of the following categories but are not limited to:
- Ensuring guest safety through proactive personal interaction and removing hazards in the area of responsibility.
- Preventing and resolving altercations among guests.
- Lead guests and other employees in emergency evacuation procedures.
- Maintain control by circulating through your work area throughout the shift.
- Check identification of any guest who appears to be under 40 years of age who is drinking alcoholic beverages inside the venue.
- Enforcing house policy regarding photos/videos/recording devices.
- Safeguard against property damage.
- Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals and flashlights. Remain in constant contact throughout the shift.
- Set up area before opening (stanchions, table configuring, bonfires etc.)
- Check identification of any guest entering designated 21 area and wristband.

Compensation:
- $14.00-$20.00 Hourly Pay
Employment length:
- 1-2 months
Typical start time:
- 5:30-7:30 PM
Typical hours per week:
- 10-35 hrs. (7-week season)
