Digital Media Coordinator (Communications Unit)

Introduction:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain multiple social media accounts. (FB, IG, LinkedIn, BlueSky, TikTok)
- Prepare posts for multiple digital platforms. (YouTube, website)
- Produce visual assets using photography, cinematography and photo/ video editing skills.
- Prioritize accessibility, (captioning, multilingual translations, alt text, etc.)
- Coordinate webinars. (StreamYard)
- Maintain library and planning systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the office and out in the field.
- Follow best practices for social media engagement.
- Provide additional communications support as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with social media, website and webinar platforms.
- Ability to write succinctly, turn a phrase with keen understanding of our mission.
- Ability to use photography and cinematography skills to produce/edit visual assets.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to apply best practices for accessibility (captioning, translations, etc.) in preparing social posts to optimize the visitor experience.
- Social awareness with a keen understanding of our justice mission.
- Experience as a communications professional.
- College degree or communications certification.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel in the field and occasional travel to offices in Willmar and St. Cloud.
- Apply principles of the organization’s Racial Justice Values Statement in all interactions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in newsletter platforms (MailChimp, Emma, Constant Contact)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proficiency in use of mobile video editing apps.
- Proficiency in use of Canva.
- Knowledge of SEO, Google analytics.
- Diverse social, economic and cultural experiences.
- Second language skills in Spanish, Somali, Hmong, ASL
- Experience in a social or legal justice organization.
This is a hybrid position. The successful candidate will enjoy being in the office and out in the field to make connections and gather content. An ability to easily shift focus as communications priorities are adjusted to accommodate changing external and internal news and information cycles.
Compensation Information:
$68,075 – $76,647 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits. Benefits include family medical and dental insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b) with employer match, FSA, employee assistance programs, and generous paid time off.
