Role Description
Multiple full-time positions available for Forklift and Material Handling Mechanics and Technicians with Mid-Ohio Forklifts, Inc. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as shipping & receiving, unloading, material handling, packing, and forklift operation. While the role is based in Akron, OH, there is flexibility as we cover ALL of NE Ohio, Mansfield, and over 30 Ohio counties.
Core Skills & Qualifications
- Equipment Maintenance/Operation Proficiency: Ability to service/operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Familiarity with various forklift types (e.g., counterbalance, reach trucks, order pickers).
- Load Management: Knowledge of proper load balancing and weight distribution. Awareness of load limits and how to prevent tipping or accidents.
- Spatial Awareness: Strong ability to navigate tight spaces and crowded warehouses. Awareness of surroundings to avoid collisions and ensure safety.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding basic forklift mechanics for troubleshooting issues. Ability to perform routine inspections and maintenance checks.
- Safety Awareness: Adherence to OSHA standards and company safety protocols. Knowledge of hazard identification and risk mitigation techniques.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
- Time Management: Efficiently prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion of material handling operations. Managing workflows in a fast-paced setting.

- Attention to Detail: Accurately following protocols for handling materials, including labeling, stacking, and inventory management.
- Physical Stamina and Dexterity: Capability to sit, stand, and move for long periods. Strength to handle heavy materials safely when required.
