Salary : $74,000 to $85,000 Annually

Examples of Duties :
Develops project design, budget, methodology, scheduling and recommendations for planning
projects with guidance from supervisor.
Provides guidance and review of the work of other planning personnel engaged in the compilation
and analysis of data for planning purposes.
Conducts and analyzes field studies and surveys to collect primary data for planning
purposes.
Prepares research and planning reports and summaries.
Presents reports and represents MORPC to government officials, citizen groups, and professional
organizations.
Works directly with consultants to provide information required for studies to benefit the
public and reviews the day to day work of consultants hired by MORPC.
Has familiarity with cultural diversity and applies diversity and inclusion efforts in daily
business
Typical Qualifications-Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong communication (both written and verbal),
Research, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
Working knowledge of MS Office, GIS, statistical databases, and Adobe software is
essential.
Ability to learn additional analytical techniques is required.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the land use planning processes and be familiar with
comprehensive planning practices.
Must possess the ability to work independently and in a team.
Must be able to work under pressure with limited direction from supervisor.
Must be a good listener and adept at providing guidance and support to members of the planning
team.
Should have sufficient command of the English language to be able to convey and understand
ideas.
Should feel comfortable with public speaking.
Must be able to attend evening meetings outside of the agency.
Acceptable Experience and Training :
A minimum of six years of applicable planning experience of increased responsibility, including
strong project and personnel management, and an advanced degree in City and Regional Planning,
Urban Planning, Geography is preferred.
A BS / BA in these fields combined with a minimum of eight years applicable planning experience
may be accepted.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is required.
Must have valid drivers license, good driving record and maintain liability insurance coverage
as required by MORPC.
