JOB SUMMARY

Position Details
- Program Duration: Up to 8 weeks (dates may vary by course)
- Work Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (hours may vary by course)
- Orientation: Mandatory in-person session for new teachers
- Compensation: $1,320 - $10,912 stipend, based on factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and internal equity. Mid-Pacific Institute offers competitive pay.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare and submit a course syllabus and weekly lesson plans that follow GlobalX curriculum guidelines.
- Create and maintain a Canvas (LMS) page with course content, narratives, weekly blogs, pictures, and provide prompt and effective communication with families.
- Maintain effective classroom management and communication, liaising with the Innovations Manager, Elementary School Principal, and parents as needed.
- Build relationships with students and encourage active participation throughout the course.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and resources for learning that reflect an understanding of the diverse learning styles of students.
- Monitor students progress through the course and provide ongoing feedback on their achievement.
- Grade assignments, projects, and assessments in a timely manner.
- Supervise students during out of classroom activities (e.g. recess, lunch, etc.).
- Additional duties as assigned by the Innovations Manager.
SCHOOL SAFETY
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.

- Report any injury, hazard or illness immediately to their Supervisor and Human Resources.

- Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws.
- Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources. Sexual abuse includes child molestation, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with a minor, and serial sexual misconduct, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with more than one victim; and committed by or alleged to have been committed by any perpetrator who is not a student of an included entity.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in a school environment.
- At least one (1) year of teaching experience.
- Experience with project-based learning, the inquiry process, design thinking, or experiential education.
- Experience working with students of all ages.
- Experience working in Canvas.
- Experience working in Google suite.
- Strong verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires up to 8 weeks of work during the Summer Programs (dates may vary by course). Work hours are typically Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (hours may vary by course).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.

On a daily basis, must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.
