Position Overview
The Compliance Representative/Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the company’s compliance function. This individual will collect, review, and monitor data from operational areas to ensure compliance with government regulations. This individual provides guidance and support to less experienced team members and assists department management with administrative tasks to support department operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties to support the company’s Compliance function.
- Assists in collecting, reviewing, and monitoring data from operational areas to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Assists in performing and documenting review of operational area processes.
- Works with operational staff to ensure common understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Stays abreast of changes in law and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
- Offers suggestions for improving current compliance processes, as appropriate.
- Leads or assists in leading meetings to proactively identify compliance related issues and/or remediate existing compliance deficiencies.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
Education & Qualifications
- A B.S. or B.A. degree in a Business-related field, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the financial services industry normally required.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and presentation skills; proficient customer service orientation and ability to work with all levels of staff; strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills; basic knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial services at the state and federal level; ability to proficiently use current technology and software applications related to the position; ability to analyze and interpret basic to moderately complex sets of data; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver’s license is required.
