The Mid-Prairie Community School District is in search of a Special Education Teacher for the 25-26 school year. We are in search of highly qualified candidates who have a passion for working with students with disabilities, value collaboration with colleagues, and a strong desire to learn and grow as an educator. Candidates should have a valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements required for the position or the ability to acquire the appropriate licensure and endorsements. This position requires a Strategist II endorsement. The district is offering a $5,000 signing bonus for any candidate with Strat. II endorsement selected for the position (additional information provided at the time of employment offer).

Ability to create and maintain healthy relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
Ability to provide instruction to effectively meet the needs of all students.
Ability to effectively implement multiple teaching methods (co-teaching, small group, differentiation, etc).
Knowledge and ability to implement the Iowa Teaching Standards.
Knowledge of special education evidence-based practices
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to effectively use technology for instruction, communication and data management.
Ability to effectively engage in professional growth individually and with collaborative teams.
Ability to implement federal, state and district goals with students.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Department of Iowa regulations.
