Child Care Consultant Job Description
We are seeking a full-time, telecommute Child Care Consultant to cover Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Wright & Webster Counties in Iowa.
About the Role
This position requires providing on-site or virtual consultation, practice-based coaching and technical assistance to non-registered Child Care Homes, Child Care Development Homes, Licensed Child Care Centers and Preschools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site consultation, evidence-based coaching and technical assistance to child care providers.
- Promote inclusive and culturally-appropriate child care policies and services.
- Meet regional expectations and performance measures.
- Knowledge of DHS rules and regulations for child care development homes and centers.
- Assist with registration and application processes.
- Report allegations of abuse and neglect to authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child and Family Services or related field.
- Excellent computer, organizational and office skills.
- Strong written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
Working Conditions
- Travel required throughout the region and state.
- Flexible hours, including evenings, overnights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
