Essential Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities of the Sanitarian include but are not limited to the following:
Machine Operations:
Ensures operation of the following machinery:
• Forklift
• Two-Man Lift
• Boom Lift
• Floor Scrubber
• Steam Cleaner
• Foamer
Equipment Monitoring:
Ensure proper monitoring of the following equipment:
• Forklift
• Two-Man Lift
• Boom Lift
• Floor Scrubber
• Steam Cleaner
• Foamer
Duties:
• Operate sanitation equipment properly
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machines and contact surfaces (mixers, overhead pipes, conveyors, etc.)
• Cleaning of bulk flour silos utilizing confined space procedures
• Cleaning and sanitizing of bulk storage units (sugar and oil silos) utilizing confined space procedures
• Proper completion of KLEANZ generated duties per the Master Cleaning Schedule
• Proper completion of KLEANZ generated work orders from GMP inspections
• Routine monitoring of assigned area to ensure cleanliness
• Ensure proper labeling of chemical containers (spray bottles, buckets, etc.)
• Ensure proper procedures regarding use, storage and disposal of chemicals are followed per policy
• Report any missing or damaged utensils or sanitation items to sanitation management
• Report any issues to sanitation management
• Utilization of proper chemicals on equipment, machinery and contact surfaces
• Utilization of proper PPE (gloves, safety glasses, masks, etc.)
• Utilization of proper lock-out/tag-out procedures where applicable
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
• Basic literacy skills including ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, signage, warnings and understand basic math
• Ability to communicate clearly using oral and written skills
• Ensures accuracy of records
• Understand and apply food safety policies, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices, Chemical Control and Personal Safety practices as they apply to the job function
Physical Demands:
• Physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 65 pounds
• Physically able to climb ladders, crawl under equipment and work in tight spaces
• Physically able to work in confined spaces
• Physically able to work at heights up to 60 feet
• Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, push and pull as required in a production operation
• Physically capable of standing for long periods of time
• Physically capable of normal range of motion in all extremities
• Physically capable of working in intense heat conditions
Expectations for Position:
• Work variable hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Read and understand work schedule
• Report to, begin and depart from work at scheduled times
• Practice of company standards for food safety, legality, integrity, quality and customer service
• Practice lock-out/tag-out procedures correctly
• Practice confined space procedures correctly
