CNC Machine Shop Programmer
Key Skills and Competencies:
1. Minimum of 5 years experience in a machine shop and preferably in a leadership position. Programming, setting-up and operating CNC machines such as lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills.
2. Must have strong leadership and problem solving skills.
3. Advanced knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
4. Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
5. Advanced knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
6. Ability to program complex machined components. Run time estimates. Extensive knowledge of programming software.
7. Must be able to organize movement of material and finished parts.
8. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
9. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
10. Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
11. Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose calculating and verifying dimensional accuracy.
12. Knowledge of off-line programming systems a plus
13. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Directs and develops all activities of the production machine shop staff.
2. Prepares daily and weekly work schedule for production machine department to meet or exceed deadlines.
3. Prepare programs for mills and lathes in the shop.
4. Assist with generating quotes by estimating labor and material needs.
5. Maintain work flow by organizing incoming and outgoing material.
6. Responsible for loading parts, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
7. Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
8. Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
9. Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of production.
10. Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts.
11. Communicates with managers, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
12. Responsible for ensuring equipment and work area are clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
13. Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies on PPE, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
14. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
