Position Title:

Press Brake Operator

Reports To:

General Manager of Production

Job Summary

Operates the Press Brake in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring part and bend quality. Operator will be working second shift form 12pm-8pm and able to work with little instruction.

Tasks

· By reviewing the bend rotation, employee identifies which parts are scheduled to be processed.

· Uses drawings to verify cut quality and flat dimension on parts before bending.

· Reports any missing drawing dimension or information needed for bending.

· Enters CNC file and loads bend program for running on machine.

· Loads and unloads tooling required by bend program.

· Performs initial measurements from back gauge to determine bend placement.

· Performs bends and measures angles, leg length, and web width for accuracy.

· Reports any quality, quantity, or dimension issues.

· Assist with moving finished parts to order pallets and/or Press Brake area

· Assist with grinding or loading and unloading needs.

· Completes weekly and monthly Press Brake maintenance.

· Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements

· Position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe boots).

· Complete training in safety practices, shop procedures, grinding, overhead crane, and forklift.

· Ability to communicate issues and strategies with co-workers and supervisor.

· Ability to use a tape measurement or other measuring devices.

Physical Requirements

· Requires standing, bending, twisting, and repetitive movement.

· Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.

· Requires lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.

· Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
