Service Technician

Company Overview:

Mid-South Roof Systems is a top-performing industry provider of commercial roofing services. Mid-South is currently seeking motivated, qualified individuals to be involved in the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of our existing commercial roofing customers throughout the United States. The qualified individuals will have a minimum of one to three years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of commercial roofing. A comprehensive understanding of commercial roofing would include a full scope understanding of sheet metal, EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.

Typical Duties and Requirements:
• Installation Expertise: Proficient in the installation of various roofing materials and sheet metal components with minimal supervision or instruction. Able to execute tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Flashing Mastery: Demonstrates advanced skills in flashing details, including intricate designs and configurations, with minimal guidance. Ensures proper waterproofing and sealing to enhance the longevity and performance of roofing systems.
• Adherence to Safety Protocols: Understands and strictly adheres to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Identifies potential hazards and takes proactive measures to mitigate risks.
• Document and Equipment Inspections: Conducts thorough inspections of documents, tools, and equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards. Maintains accurate records and reports as necessary.
• Leadership Abilities: Capable of leading a crew in all aspects of roofing and sheet metal work, including task delegation, coordination, and supervision. Assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the foreman to ensure seamless project execution.
• Training and Mentorship: Actively engages in teaching, training, and mentoring new team members to facilitate their skill development and integration into the crew. Shares knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Technical Skills:
• Roofing and Sheet Metal Proficiency: Possesses a solid understanding of various roofing systems and sheet metal applications, including but not limited to TPO, EPDM, PVC, and BUR. Executes installations with precision and accuracy.
• Safety Equipment and Procedures: Knowledgeable about safety equipment, protocols, and solutions relevant to roofing and sheet metal work. Demonstrates a proactive approach to safety management to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Layout and Cutting Skills: Competent in layout and cutting techniques for field and cricket applications, ensuring precise measurements and alignments. Utilizes industry-standard tools and equipment for optimal results.
• Tool Efficiency: Efficiently operates a wide range of basic hand and power tools required for roofing and sheet metal work. Maintains tools in good condition and follows proper maintenance procedures.
• Communication Proficiency: Capable of understanding and using hand signals for effective communication on job sites. Collaborates with other trades and communicates with customers as needed to ensure project success.
• Material and Safety Management: Assists in material management, including inventory control, procurement, and distribution. Supports safety management initiatives by implementing protocols and conducting regular inspections.
• Data Management: Assists the foreman in completing daily paperwork and work orders through Dataforma or similar software platforms. Ensures accuracy and completeness of documentation for project tracking and reporting purposes.

Required Education and Experience:
• Preferred valid driver’s license
• Previous commercial roofing and sheet metal experience
• Minimum High School degree, GED, and/or experience in commercial roofing preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel anywhere in the United States without restriction

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Ability to work weekends and extended hours based on production needs
