Production Director
Midsouth Steel a leader in the fabrication and erection of miscellaneous and structural steel has an immediate need for an experienced Production Director. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a well-established company that is focused on integrity, growth, and consistency.
The position’s primary focus will be to direct the production process for the company. The Director will be involved in all phases of the process including scheduling, purchasing, quality, safety, inventory, processing, manufacturing, and shipping. In addition, the Director will be the point of contact between production and project management, responsible for staying abreast of our past, current, and future workload.
This is a key position for the company and requires a significant investment of time and energy, as well as the ability to lead and get the best out of the team at Midsouth.
Some of the job duties include :
- Overseeing the production process through our structural, stairs, rails and miscellaneous departments.
- Manage our scheduling and purchasing department and plan the workload based on the schedule.
- Ensure Quality and safety standards are met. familiar with ISO but preferably AISC.
- Managing inventory of raw materials including finished goods.
- Managing the paint department and ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Collaborate internally with various departments such as Project Managers, Scheduling, Shipping and HR.
- Responsibility for maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process.
- Train and develop team members so that they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively. Identify areas where additional training can help.
