Since 1976, Mid-South Transplant Foundation (MSTF) has helped to facilitate the organ and tissue donation process between donor families and transplant recipients and promotes awareness through public and professional education. This position will hold a contractor employment status with MSTF; 100% remote work. Hours are any 8-hour shift, including days, evenings, overnight, holidays and / or weekends on a per diem basis. Must work at least one shift a month. MSTF is located in Memphis, TN.
The Donation Support Coordinator (DSC) is responsible for assisting the tissue recovery team with initial screening of patients to determine suitability for tissue donation, approach families for authorization and completion of medical / social history on each potential tissue donor via telephone. The DSC Contractor will complete their own electronic timesheets for semi-monthly payroll processing.
QUALIFICATIONS : MUST HAVE prior OPO experience (one year) in approaching families for donation. Must have college degree or equivalent healthcare related experience, strong medical terminology knowledge and effective organizational, listening and communication skills.
