What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist/Tool&Die position at Mid South Wire?
Additional responsibilities will include maintain proper job documentation as well as assist with basic machine maintenance. You should have experience programming in Conversational & G code. Ideal CNC machinist should be able to set-up and operate machines on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. The basic functions of the position include, but are not limited to: analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinist's hand tools. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment that includes PLC controlled machinery, hydraulic and mechanical presses, and various welding systems with a goal of reducing downtime and recurring problems.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years tool and die experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment, problem solving skills, be able to read blue prints and perform mathematical calculations, and have the ability to operate and maintain tool and die shop equipment including inspection tools, manual lathes and mills.
