What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Teller position at Mid-Southern Savings Bank?
General Function :
To cordially greet customers and assist them in their banking transactions with a high degree of accuracy. To maintain accurate transactional records and providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and welcome customers in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
- Receive checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and entering deposits into computer records.
- Cash checks and process withdrawals after verification of signatures and balances.
- Check night depository bags and required information according to Bank procedures.
- Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of the Bank’s services, policies and procedures, the rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
- Receive mortgage, consumer loans, and other payments while ensuring the payments match amounts due; then enter into computer and generate receipts.
- Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
- Count, check and package coins and currency.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and verify that drawer totals match computer-generated proof sheet. If necessary research and resolve discrepancies, and report them to the supervisor.
- Ensure the teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.
- Report malfunction of equipment to supervisor immediately.
- As part of dual control, balance and maintain ATM as assigned or required.
- Fill out wire form for customer, and complete cash transaction. Assist in making sure that bank functions run smoothly and efficiently by undertaking whatever duties that may be assigned or requested.
MINIMUM CREDENTIALS :
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer and calculator.
- Previous experience not required but appreciated.
