Job Summary
As an Estimating Manager for the Electrical Division, you will be responsible for managing the electrical quote log, scheduling and overseeing proposal deliveries, assembling proposals, scheduling bid reviews and overall implementation of the electrical estimating processes and procedures for quality control and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Talk/Hear: Must be able to communicate project requirements, discuss estimates with clients and team members, and address any questions or issues that arise both verbally and through written communication.
Stand/Sit: Primarily a sedentary role involving extended periods of sitting at a desk or conference table for tasks such as analyzing data and preparing reports. Occasional standing may be required during meetings, presentations, or discussions with team members.
Walk: Occasionally required to walk to move between offices or departments, attend meetings, and oversee various aspects of project estimation and management.
Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle documents, input data into systems, and review and organize project materials and estimates.
Climb: Occasionally required to access high storage areas, retrieve project files or supplies, and inspect materials or equipment.
Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch to access lower filing cabinets, retrieve documents, or review project materials stored in lower locations.
See: Must have adequate vision to review and analyze project plans, assess bids, and ensure accuracy in cost estimates and project documentation.
Carry, weight, Lift: Must be able to occasionally lift or move objects up to 10 pounds, to transport documents, project files, or office supplies needed for their role.

Key Responsibilities
- Organizes, manages, and completes electrical estimating quote log which consists of approximately 10 quotes (average) per day.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements from construction plans and related documentation.
- Computers costs by analyzing labor, material, equipment, subcontractor and time requirements.
- Presents prepared estimate by combining numerical data and descriptive information in a clear, concise proposal.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Maintains the company’s proprietary cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending project walk-throughs and interfacing with clients.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components.
- Reviews scope of work with division managers, estimators and account managers.
- Assembles and prepares proposal letters, SOV’s, CPM schedules, and other client furnished documents as required for each RFQ.
- Continual process improvement as it relates to Estimating.
- Responsible for supervising, coaching, and developing employees within reporting structure.
- Conducts meetings and maintains ongoing communication with department personnel, Job Prep, & Electrical Services Employees. Follows-up with various personnel to ensure projects are completed and fully closed as schedule.
- Acts as a service provider and partner to internal and external customers.
- Use of personal vehicles to visit client sites or run company errands may be required.
- This position requires occasional travel.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, contract management or engineering preferred. Equivalent years of training, education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 4 -10 years depending on training and education.
- Prior experience as a supervisor or manager required.
- Experience with a range of Project Management, Scheduling and Estimating Software Suite(s) is preferred.
- Must possess a strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Must possess clear and effective communication skills ranging from field personnel to upper management.
- Must be well versed in reading, interpreting and presenting various construction plans.
- Organized with a high attention to detail.

- This is a full-time position. Days and Hours of work may vary and are somewhat flexible, but they are generally Monday through Friday, between the core hours of 7 am to 6 pm. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays, when necessary.
