Job Summary :
The Gearbox Pump Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of gearbox pumps and related mechanical systems. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with gearbox pumps, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassembles and inspects equipment to determine repair requirements. Includes Slurry pumps, Multi-stage split case pumps, Vertical turbine pumps, Overhung Horizontal pumps, Right angle drive gearboxes, Parallel shaft gearboxes, and Split line gearboxes
- Fills out inspection and other various reports.
- Using various pneumatic tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, drill press and surface grinder required to disassemble and assemble pumps and gearboxes.
- Ability to read micrometers and measuring equipment to .0005”
- Ensures that required equipment and tools are functioning properly.
- Performs routine maintenance on machinery and test equipment.
- Performs housekeeping tasks as required.
- Follows written and verbal instructions.
- Works independently to a set of procedures with stop checks for Supervisor and QC Sign Offs
- Adheres to and follows company Safety rules.
