Job Summary :
As a Heavy Mechanical Shop - mechanic you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, documenting, assembling, various types of mining process equipment & walking dragline equipment, Power Plant Equipment and machinery with other assigned duties
Key Responsibilities :
- Disassembles and inspects equipment to determine repair requirements. Includes gear assemblies, pinion shaft assemblies, trunnion rollers, thrust rollers, various walking dragline components, sheaves, fairleads, gear cases, dragline transmissions, planetaries gear cases, lump breakers & crushers, hammer mills, head shaft & tail shaft pulleys, shaker screens & more.
- Fills out inspection and other various reports.
- Using various pneumatic tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, welder, drill press and hand grinders required to disassemble and assemble various types of equipment.
- Required to read micrometers and measuring equipment.
- Ensures that required equipment and tools are functioning properly.
- Performs routine maintenance on machinery and test equipment.
- Performs housekeeping tasks as required.
- Work independently to a set of procedures with stop checks for Supervisor and QC Sign Offs
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Must always adhere to and follow company safety rules.

The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp or manipulate small objects.
Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl : Routinely perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping. Occasional climbing.
See : The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet). Also, must be able to see details at a distance. The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.
Carry, weight, Lift : The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
