Scope
Leads, develops, and continuously improves MMF’s Quality Management System (QMS) while directly overseeing quality inspector(s). QMS includes defining and tracking quality inspections, random inspections, tracking programs, following established quality standards such as WPS (Welding Procedures Specifications), fabrication, welding and any new quality programs in the steel fabrication business (AISC Certified Fabricator or other standards implemented). Assists the Operations manager with daily production needs from processes, machine operations, material handling assembly/welding and structural fabrication/welding. Organizes project documents prior to production release and provides completeness checks once projects are finalized.
Job Responsibilities
- Development. implementation and enforcement of MMF’s Quality Management System.
- Perform inspections when needed in machine set-ups, and operations, assembly and structural welding utilizing measuring/testing equipment to ensure tolerances are within acceptable guidelines.
- Work with internal management and outside experts to continue to develop MMF’s WPS’s, weld standards, SOP’s, AISC accreditation, and other standards implemented.
- Tracking, summarizing, and reporting inspections and results by individual, processing area and individual process while defining where training and changes need to be made.
- Coordinates 3rd party CWI inspections when necessary and creates customer project documentation files
- Performs AISC 360 verifications and inspections when needed.
- Work with the production staff on developing, redefining processes, and training to improve quality.
- Position MMF to be the best in class for quality products offered to its customers. o Work with the Leadership team on recommendations implement industry Best in Class with WPS, AISC or other quality industry standards.
- Responsible for ensuring shop safety regulations are followed and a safe culture is promoted.
- Reviews, marks up, organize prints prior to releasing to production.
- Willing and able to aid in other areas of production and MMF when needed
Qualifications
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Strong math skills (addition, geometry, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
- Must Be Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook and overall computer skills.
- Demonstrate strong leadership in team development and continuous process improvement.
- Effective communication skills.
- Detail oriented, organized, attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Requires high school diploma and associate degree in related fields would be preferred.
- 3-5 years minimum of quality, manufacturing, and production experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of structural welding code (AWS D1.1), AWS D2.4, blueprint reading, fabrication machine tolerances and use of measuring devices to check tolerances
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
