Scope
Under the direction of the Engineering Department Manager or other assigned responsible management, performs complex technical, project engineering work in office and/or field environments as appropriate or assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepares plans, drawings, charts, estimates, specifications and/or other documents for engineering projects using REVIT.
- Prepares design computations which include dimensions, estimates
- Designs projects of moderate complexity
- Develops and maintains REVIT standards, and provides information and assistance to department and company personnel related to engineering projects
- Performs field inspections of grain storage facilities and contract construction of engineering projects, structures and facilities to ensure conformance with plans and specifications
- Documents daily construction activities and quantities, and prepare progress and final reports and pay estimates, change orders and supplemental agreements
- Performs quality control tests on construction materials as scheduled or determined
- Recommend upgrades and revisions to procedures and practices
- Performs other related functions as assigned or apparent
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of civil/agricultural engineering
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of computer-aided design/drafting systems
- Extensive knowledge of principles, methods, equipment and materials used in construction of civil engineering projects
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations relative to engineering, and to complete the design and/or drafting of moderately complex civil engineering projects
- Ability to perform field inspection of construction work to ensure contractors’ compliance with plans and specifications
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients/customers
- Self-motivated, confident individual with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel on a scheduled and unscheduled basis up to 25% of the time
- Two years of college with major coursework in engineering or related engineering discipline and supportive coursework in computer-aided drafting/design or civil engineering technology. (Extensive experience in engineering or related field may be substituted for required education.)
- Experience in engineering drafting/design and construction or other related engineering work
- Minimum of two years' of experience using AutoCAD, REVIT and Microsoft Office software. (Engineering Technology or related degree may be substituted for required experience.)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
