The Position
The Talent Acquisition and Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for the oversight of talent acquisition for Mid-States Concrete Industries four locations. They develop strong community partnerships that strengthen Mid-States brand and generate long-term pipelines. Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting: Oversee all recruiting processes for South Beloit and Browntown manufacturing facilities, installation/road crew, and corporate administrative positions. Review applications, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and participate in candidate selection process.
- Administration: Manage Paycom applicant tracking system data. Develop tools and guidelines for recruitment conversations and train hiring managers in interviewing best practices.
- Advertising: Track recruiting budget to manage cost per application and find high-value advertising opportunities. Support development of Mid-States employer brand and content that highlights company culture.
- Community Engagement: Foster deep community partnerships with local high schools, non-profits, apprenticeship programs, and colleges to promote manufacturing/construction careers and develop long-term recruiting pipelines.
- Onboarding: Generate agenda and support new hire onboarding. Partner newly hired team members with mentors and seek feedback to improve onboarding and retention.
- HR/Safety Support: Provide real-time support for employee relations and safety issues. Collaborate with Safety and/or HR Team to resolve open items.
- Travel: This position requires travel within a 90-mile radius of the corporate office at least 2 days per week. A valid drivers license is required for this role.

Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- 1-2 years of experience supporting recruiting, training/onboarding, or HR Administration
- Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in human resources or related field; PHR or SHRM-CP
- Bilingual English/Spanish spoken and written language skills
- Experience working within Paycom HRIS
