Mid-States Distributing ("Mid-States") is the leading Farm, Ranch, and Home Retail Cooperative. Our company is owned by 31 independent Farm, Ranch & Home retailers (“Members”) who operate over 800 stores in 36 states and 9 Canadian provinces with combined annual sales in excess of 7.5 billion dollars.  Our member/owners retail items such as agriculture parts & supplies, petroleum products, hardware & tools, pet food, lawn & garden, animal health supplies, apparel & footwear, sporting goods, and various other products for the Farm, Ranch, and Home.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsibilities include website creation, landing page development, e-mail campaign creation, custom HTML/CSS development and launching web projects You will work on a nimble, distributed team that is passionate about advocating for user needs and delivering world-class products that redefine our customers’ day-to-day activities. For new team members, we care less about the experience with specific technologies and more about attitude and work ethic. Building new technology is a messy business, so you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Build mobile optimized websites.
• Create web pages for additional content and user engagement.
• Assist in designing and building Html/CSS templates.
• Assist in creating and modifying content for SEO optimization.
• Optimize web pages for conversion and user engagement.
• Updating website content and multimedia for all our brands
• Integrating tools to optimize website traffic.
• Creating logos to support current and future business prospects.
• Writing and editing content.
• Identify and improve organizational development aspects that would improve content.
• Leverage the right tools to manage content and maximize engagement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Eye for detail (extreme attention to all details)
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (Adobe Illustrator skills a plus)
• Proficiency in Html/CSS generated by hand (familiarity with responsive design a plus)
• Familiarity with WordPress and WordPress development
• Familiarity with on-page SEO is nice but not required.
• 1 to 3 years of work experience programming Html/CSS with knowledge of responsive design
• Detail oriented (must QA your work!)
• Must care about User Experience and always be thinking in terms of how the user interacts/interprets what is on screen.
• Must be able to take direction and execute based on that direction.
• Must be curious and always looking to learn.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to shift gears quickly and wear multiple hats.
• Flexibility, patience, and self-initiative required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean environment.  The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, some stooping, and significant fine finger dexterity.
