ABOUT MID VALLEY DISPOSAL
Founded in 1997, Mid Valley Disposal (MVD) is a locally owned leader in recycling, organics, and solid waste services throughout the Central Valley. The Kalpakoff family brings four generations of experience to successfully operate a solid waste management company in California. Today, MVD is managed by Joseph and Jonathan Kalpakoff, the fourth generation. With over 350 employees, MVD provides exclusive collection services to 31 local jurisdictions across Fresno, Merced, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties.
POSITION : Welder
Location : Fresno, Whitebridge location.
Schedule : Monday – Friday (1 : 00 PM start, occasional Saturdays)
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Mechanic Supervisor, the Welder is responsible for welding steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, fitting and assembling components according to blueprints. The Welder will fabricate, repair, and modify parts and equipment as needed, using a torch, and will perform tasks including grinding, sanding, cutting, and cleaning various components. They will ensure weld integrity and quality throughout the process.

- Provide exemplary customer service to internal teams and management while demonstrating respect and integrity.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
- Foster a culture aligned with MVD's values and contribute to maintaining a positive work environment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all company equipment, including road calls.
- Document parts, time, and descriptions of repairs at the end of each shift.
- Use welding expertise to perform repairs and fabrications effectively and efficiently.
- Gather necessary materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, metal), ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Set up welding machines and cutting devices for metalworking to fabricate or modify parts.
- Review, read, and interpret blueprints or sketches for accurate construction.
- Complete all steps in the welding process according to specifications.
- Communicate welding or equipment issues to supervisors as they arise.
- Safely use MIG and TIG welding techniques on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel components.
- Contribute to team goals and company objectives.
- Assist with equipment cleaning when needed.
- Pickup and deliver parts from vendors and other MVD locations as required.
- Attend vendor and company-sponsored training sessions.
