DEFINITION

Under general supervision perform a diverse set of sales activities related to generating leads, meeting with potential clients, meeting sales goals, and negotiating contracts.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives directions from the Owner / Director of Sales and Company Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (Include but are not limited to the following)

Generate leads through cold calling and in-person prospecting.

Attend business events such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.…

Meet with potential customers to determine needs.

Create sales proposals and contracts.

Negotiate contracts with customers.

Participate in marketing activities.

Keep CRM and Pipeline updated weekly.

Keep calendars up to date.

Follow up on new leads resulting from field activity.

Maintains professional and technical working knowledge.

Meet all sales quarterly quotas.

Meet all prospecting and meeting goals.

Ability to utilize sales database and related software.

Ensure Communication Between Departments & All Levels of Management.

Attend sales events such as golf tournaments, fundraisers, etc.… to develop leads and “work the booth.”

All other duties as assigned.

Ability to :

Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Prepare clear and concise reports and -maintain accurate and complete records. Work independently with minimal supervision. Gather, analyze, organize, and evaluate information regarding office automation. Operate a motor vehicle safely. Have access to, during normal business hours, a reasonably reliable motor vehicle. Vehicle must maintain all insurance required by the State of California. Operate modern office equipment. Must always maintain a professional dress code.

Experience :

  • At least 5 years of outside sales experience, industry specific preferred.
  • Contract sales and negotiations
  • Working with MSP support offerings

Training :

  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Completion of a Sales Training Program
  • License or Certificate :

    Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C driver's license.

    Environmental Conditions :

    Office environment, local travel, work inside and outside at events and in-person meetings at client locations.

    Physical Conditions :

    Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and standing for prolonged periods of time; operating an automobile for an extended time; using a computer and related equipment; and lifting up to 50 pounds.
